Japan getting a Limited Edition Pokemon DS Lite

Get ready Pokemaniacs! If a DS Lite with a pink tint color can create lines of over 400 outside of Japan’s major videogame retailers on a weekday morning, and to top it off, while raining, just imagine the kind of commotion a Pokemon Pikachu themed DS Lite will cause. Unfortunately for all of us who are not members of the Official Pokemon Fan Club won’t even get a chance to see it. Not for a while atleast.

The Pokemon Daisuki Fan Club – which is the official Pokemon fan club designed and run by the Pokemon Company – announced a special summer capaign which will have 150 members walking away with a limited edition Nintendo DS Lite. The DS Lite up for offer is a Crystal White unit with four Pikachu faces painted on its top featuring various moods of Pikachu ranging from Happy, to Ecstatic, to Sad. It is called the “DS Lite Pikachu Daisuki! Version” (I Love Pikachu Version). You can see a top pictue of the Limited Edition DS Lite at the Japanese site, Impress Watch.

Go retrieve your Nintendo DS Lite. Now make sure the system is closed and look on the back. Focus on the hinges connecting the upper half of the DS to the lower half. If you see a physical cracking, you’re among a growing minority of Nintendo DS Lite users who have found a crack in their systems. The defect does not cause any problems to gaming with the DS. As a matter of fact, the ceack doesn’t seem to do anything but place a less-than-noticeable on your handheld’s exterior.
