It’s that time of the year again. Smackdown! Vs. Raw 2007 is out and with it comes a plethora of new features. Online mode has been expanded passed the limited matches of 2006, graphics have once again been updated, and voice-overs have once again been redone and expanded upon.
As with prior installments in the Smackdown series, 2007 offers many of the core matches ranging from Singles Competition to the ever coveted 6 Man Hell In a Cell. Unfortunately though, once you’ve peaked, it is very difficult to top yourself, and on that note, Smackdown! Vs. RAW 2007 seems to suffer from repetitive-ness, or more bluntly stated, an extreme case of Déjà vu.
I have no intention of purporting that Smackdown may lack a fun factor. It is in fact one of the best compilations I’ve ever seen from Yuke’s. New control schemes, storylines, superstars, moves, and match types are always welcome in each new installment. The problem is that some old problems just seem too prevalent to ignore, especially after seeing them year after year.
